Božkov Vodka by Stock Plzeň - the best selling vodka on Czech market!

The best selling vodka in the Czech Republic comes neither from
Scandinavia, nor from Russia, nor Poland. All the greatest vodka
superpowers get toppled in the Czech Republic by a purely domestic
product - Božkov Vodka by Stock Plzeň. For a number of years Božkov
Vodka has been clearly the top-selling vodka in the gastronomy sector.
Now it has made it to the top in the retail market too.
According to the latest data from the Nielsen agency, which
conducts surveys on sales of food industry products and other goods on
a regular and long term basis, Božkov Vodka has become the top-selling
vodka in the retail market, gaining an over 13% market share in the
segment, and hence overtaking its main rival, the Hanácká Vodka brand.
The position of Božkov Vodka is even stronger in restaurants, pubs,
bars and clubs. The latest data from the Dataservis agency for the
second quarter of 2008 rate Božkov Vodka at the top position, with
a 25% share in vodka sales in the gastronomy sector, followed by brands
such as Finlandia (22%) and Vodka Amundsen (also from Stock Plze?'s
product range, with an over 11% share).
"Both Božkov Vodka and Vodka Amundsen exhibit above-average growth in
sales. I dare say it is these brands especially that offer a perfect
combination of high quality and reasonable prices. That's why they
score high among the customers," says Richard Švéda, Sales and
Marketing Director of Stock Plzeň. Last year alone the sales of Božkov
Vodka rose by 36%, while Vodka Amundsen grew approximately 17%. Both
brands continue to record similar growth rates this year. Besides its
own vodkas Stock Plze? also distributes the Finnish Koskenkorva Vodka
in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Thanks to the success in sales, Stock Plze? remains an undisputed
leader on the Czech spirits market, with the total market share
approximately 35%, and its brands dominating all four key segments of
the market: bitter and herbal spirits (Fernet Stock, Fernet Stock
Citrus, Fernet Stock 8000, and Magister), domestic rums (Božkov
Tuzemský), vodkas (Vodka Amundsen, Božkov Vodka), as well as liqueurs
(Božkov Peprmint, Božkov Griotte).
