Stock Plzeň´s Calendar featuring Jitka Čvančarová has won a prestigious award

Stock Plzeň´s Calendar for 2009, adorned with photos of the actress Jitka Čvančarová, has won one of the top awards in the prestigious Best 2009 Calendar competition, held for its ninth year by the M.I.P. Group agency and the Typografie magazine. The aim of the competition is to promote creativity, printing and graphics quality of calendars in the Czech Republic, and to recognise and encourage outstanding achievements in this field.
An expert jury was selecting from more than fifty calendars entered in the competition, assessing them in various categories, such as the best design, best photos, cover, promotion effect, print quality, as well as an overall production and the best expressive representation of social role. Stock Plzeň´s Calendar featuring Jitka Čvančarová has won the award for a "Distinctive Presentation of Celebrity Calendar Photos", and gained a nomination in another category.
"We are very pleased, of course, to receive the award. We are glad that the nickname "the Czech Pirelli", given to our calendar by some media, is not just a pun, and that the quality of our work is also recognised and appreciated by experts," said Martin Petrášek, Managing Director of Stock Plzeň.
This is not the first positive acclaim from experts, however, that the company´s Calendar has received. In autumn 2007, Stock Plzeň´s Calendar featuring Iva Kubelková won the prestigious Golden Prisma Award in the Italian Pordenone, which is annually awarded to the best corporate calendars.
As in previous years, Stock Plzeň´s Calendar was produced by the Men on the Moon agency, and a number of true masters of their field gathered for its 2009 edition production. It was shot by Jiří Turek, one of the most acclaimed Czech photographers, who has worked for a number of international fashion magazines as well as for companies such as Coca-Cola, Oriflame, T-Mobile, and Škoda Auto. The stylist Táňa Sladíková was in charge of everything to do with clothes for Jitka Čvančarová, while Renata Zelinková, one of the leading Czech make-up artists, took care of the make-up and hair. The shooting of the calendar itself took place last May, in the interiors and exteriors of the Lednice Chateau.
Since 2003, when Stock Plzeň started to issue the Calendar, its editions have featured pictures of the topmodel Simona Krainová, the Miss Czech Republic runner-up Andrea Vránová, the actress Markéta Hrubešová, the model Jitka Kocurová, the 1996 Miss Czech Republic runner-up Iva Kubelková, and the singer Helena Zeťová.
Preparation of the eighth edition of Stock Plzeň´s Calendar, i.e. for the year 2010, is already underway. For that edition, Stock Plzeň has managed to gain Alena Šeredová, a famous Czech model currently living and working in Italy.
